The weapon-triangle is the rock–paper–scissors-like mechanic in which red weapons have an advantage against green, but a disadvantage against blue, and so on. __TOC__ ==Mechanics== A unit with weapon-triangle advantage in a specific combat receives an attack damage boost equal to 20% of its Atk stat. A unit with weapon-triangle disadvantage in a specific combat receives an attack damage reduction equal to 20% of its Atk stat, making the weapon-triangle a significant factor in combat. Weapon Triangle Advantage table ==Skills== ===Affinity=== The Triangle Adept status effect and Gem weapons such as Ruby Sword+, Emerald Axe+, and Sapphire Lance+ enhance the effect of the weapon-triangle advantage to grant the advantage +40%, and the disadvantage -40%. This is effectively a built-in Triangle Adept 3, which enables units wielding such weapons to more effectively counter a specific unit color at the cost of becoming much weaker against another. Triangle Adept enhances the effect of the weapon-triangle advantage by an amount depending on the level of the skill, making the advantage either +30%, +35%, or +40% and the disadvantage either -30%, -35%, or -40%. Triangle Adept does not affect battles in which there is no triangle advantage, but it does affect non-standard triangle advantages, such as those granted by Raven tomes and Time Traveler skills. These effects grant weapon-triangle advantage boosts, and are thus affected by skills such as Cancel Affinity and Duality. Cancel Affinity disables any advantage modifiers (such as those from gem weapons/Triangle Adept or the Raven Tomes only if said tomes are used along with Triangle Adept.) on the unit with the skill equipped, but also supplies certain protection against weapon-triangle advantage modifying effects on the enemy unit. The Cancel Affinity status effect only disables weapon-triangle advantage modifying effects on the enemy unit. ===New advantages=== Skills such as Raven tomes and Duality modify the weapon-triangle for their wielder, so that they gain additional weapon-triangle advantage(s) over certain weapon color(s). This means that a wielder of, for example, Blárraven+ gets Atk+20% against both red and colorless units, and Atk-20% against green units. Additional weapon-triangle advantages will stack with each other. For example, if unit with Duality is in combat against a foe with Blárraven+, both units receive Atk+20% and Atk-20% against the other unit's weapon color, resulting in a neutral matchup. These skills do not grant affinity to an existing weapon-triangle advantage, but rather grant new advantage(s) entirely, and are not affected by Cancel Affinity and Duality. ===Altered advantages=== Time Traveler skills alter the weapon-triangle for both the foe equipped with the seal and the player's unit in combat against it, and are thus are not affected by Cancel Affinity and Duality. Time Traveler skills will stack with boosted affinity from effects such as Triangle Adept and additional weapon-triangle advantages and disadvantages from Raven tomes and Duality. These seals define different types of weapon-triangle advantages and disadvantages: * Minor advantage: Unit deals damage = 10% of unit's Atk during combat (excluding area-of-effect Specials). * Advantage: Unit deals damage = 20% of unit's Atk during combat (excluding area-of-effect Specials). * Major advantage: Unit deals damage = 20% of unit's Atk and reduces damage from attacks by 20% of foe's Atk during combat (excluding area-of-effect Specials), and reduces damage from foe's area-of-effect Specials by 80%. * Major disadvantage: Foe deals damage = 20% of foe's Atk and reduces damage from attacks by 20% of unit's Atk during combat (excluding area-of-effect Specials), and reduces damage from unit's area-of-effect Specials by 80%. * Extreme disadvantage: Foe deals damage = 40% of foe's Atk and reduces damage from attacks by 40% of unit's Atk during combat (excluding area-of-effect Specials), and reduces damage from unit's area-of-effect Specials by 80%. Time Traveler WTA table ===Skill interaction=== InteractionWeaponTriangle ==Sources of ""== ==In other languages== Terminology Navbox
