Umbra Calamity inflicts out of combat damage.
- Out of combat damage cannot reduce a unit's HP to 0.
- A foe equipped with Embla's Ward, Múspellflame, or Niðavellir Axiom will neutralize all sources of out of combat damage except Røkkr area-of-effect Specials.
- A foe equipped with Røkkr or a unit affected by En Garde will neutralize all sources of out of combat damage except area-of-effect Specials.
Umbra Calamity triggers on both player and enemy phases.
- Skills that alter the unit's Special cooldown count after combat, like Bunny Fang, Royal Sword, Pulse Smoke 3, and Resonant Battles skills, are evaluated before Umbra Calamity.
- Umbra Calamity can be cancelled if the unit is hit with Melancholy+ during combat.
Umbra Calamity cannot be used to trigger skills like Special Spiral 3, Dark Mystletainn, or Bride's Fang, as Umbra Calamity does not trigger before or during combat.
Umbra Calamity triggers after skills such as Repel 3, Close Call 3, Movement Passives, and skills that deal out of combat damage.
When Umbra Calamity triggers, the unit and the target swap spaces regardless of their distance.
- This is in contrast to Lunge, which only swaps spaces for adjacent units, due to inheritance restrictions.
Movement occurs only if both the unit and the target can enter the target spaces normally.
- For example, Drag Back cannot cause an Infantry unit to occupy a mountain space.
