Please Add Spoiler Icons[]

May we please add spoiler icons to this wiki's templates and to the game's Hero List template to hide spoilers from those whom don't what to see them? For example, if one of Hero A's alts is Hero B and that's a major spoiler, then Hero A's Hero List will have a Hero-B-page-linking question mark where Hero B's portrait would be, and Hero B's Hero List will have a Hero-A-page-linking question mark where Hero A's portrait would be. Also, as one searches for results of Hero A's standings in CYL polls, they'll finding question marks and blacked text where Hero B's data that are within the same page would be. I don't really see a point in this, because the game itself already has spoilers for several other Fire Emblem games. If the the game itself doesn't bother hiding spoilers then why should the wiki? Markfeh (talk) 19:54, 5 August 2020 (UTC)
That doesn't necessarily mean spoilers are acceptable! Just as much as you don't seem to care about this, so too do some other people actually DO care! This feature is to accommodate for THOSE people. Plus, it's good PR because it shows that you're allowing such an accommodation to exist in this wiki even though you aren't necessarily within its target audience. Best of all, if no one else wants to add this, I'm willing to do so myself if you grant permission and tools to add it. This way, after giving me those permission and tools, you can keep doing what you're doing, and some people will feel more comfortable visiting this site in the near future. What do you say? Snailracer (talk) 4:09, 6 September 2020 (UTC)
I understand where you're coming from (because Fire Emblem Heroes Spoiled Death Knight's identity for me), But the whole point of a Wiki is that is that is a digital encyclopedia meaning part of its job is to include spoilers. As for the "Hero-B-page-linking question mark" hat wouldn't prevent spoilers because you were still be able to see the spoiler by: A) hovering over the ? Icon which would show you Hero B's name in the url link. B) When editing the page you still be able to see Hero B's name. Based on what I know about how coding works on this wiki, I think (I'm not sure) that change you proposed for the CYL results would ruin how the data for CYL results is stored in the CYL cargo table. However, if you're still serious about implementing this change I would suggest bringing the subject up here (You'll probably get more responses here) or here (You'll probly get more insightful feedback here). Thank you for sharing your feedback. I mainly wish to update Hero pages, and I'll tackle the CYL results later. Discovering names in the URL links seems to undermine my purpose, but I just wish to prevent spoilers from simple glances done within those pages for now. I also thank you for sharing where I should go next. I'll go to those places in due time. Snailracer (talk) 4:04, 10 September 2020 (UTC)

List suggestion[]

With both the regular and inheritance tier list, there's a third list I'm missing a bit - ranking heroes by their inheritable skills. This could use the data from the Strategy pages, so heroes with abilities that are used in many builds would rank higher than those whose abilities are rarely used. Heroes who unlock rank 3 of an ability at 4* rank slightly better than those who do at 5*. You get the gist. I think this would be really helpful when cleaning out duplicate summons. Because right now I'm just stockpiling them, somewhat clueless if I really need 4 Henrys or could send two of them home. --79.222.244.29 08:36, 1 July 2017 (UTC)

Hero List Error: Colored Daggers[]

Colored daggers aren't on the drop-down menu for weapon types, and Kagero Beverage Ninja Face FC Kagero: Beverage Ninja isn't included when selecting (physical damage or) ranged Icon Move Armored Armored units. (This is also a problem on the Skills table.) I don't know what's causing these problems, or how to fix it, I just thought I should let someone know about it. Notifications sorting[]

_pageID can be added to order by clause for better sorting. RainThunder0 (talk) 09:10, 27 April 2019 (UTC)

Slow load time[]

Paging Endilyn and HertzDevil: The Hero Roster section on the main page takes a very long time to load because of how many images there are (497). We should try to keep the main page loading quite fast, because readers will generally close a slow loading page instead of wait the few seconds it might take. I tried to lazy-load this section, so it starts collapsed and you can display it by clicking a "show" button, but that did not work for reasons I am not entirely sure of. I also looked into turning those Face FC sprites into a spritesheet, so it only has to load one image, but that was not feasible because of the size of the resulting spritesheet. I'm wondering if either of you have any ideas for how we can get the load time for this page down. Thanks! TheSatanicSanta (talk) 17:57, 14 March 2020 (UTC)

I'm working on an update for the main page here: Fire Emblem Heroes Wiki:Sandbox/Main page (feel free to edit it). It still needs some work, but it will solve the HeroGrid issue as well. I'm not sure exactly what the replacement will be, but my idea so far is that it is replaced with lookup widget that makes queries or something of that nature. The growing amount of Heroes will make it infeasible to continue displaying all the Heroes at once. Alternatively, if I cannot think of a decent idea I will just remove the Hero grid and replace it with a link to Level 40 stats table, as it is not very useful for its purpose of locating Heroes at all. Error Found in the List of Refreshers[]

Lene's missing from the list of refreshers despite being one herself. May you please add her be there? Thank you. Snailracer (talk) 4:24, 6 September 2020 (UTC)

Thank you for fixing that error. Feel free to delete this. If no one else does, I'll delete this in 24 hours to give you time to see this message. Snailracer (talk) 3:59, 9 September 2020 (UTC)

Hero tables broken[]

Hero tables have been broken for the past few days on certain pages, for example the Level 40 stats table. Looks to be some sort of indexing error?

It has been fixed. Thanks for reporting. Pival13 (talk) 07:16, 16 January 2022 (UTC)

Level 40 stats table is broken[]

Currently says "Lua error in Module:Util at line 24: bad argument #4 to 'format' (string expected, got nil)." Other tables seem to work though.
