- Suave Blade applies the Halves non-Special damage reduction status effect.
- Any 【Bonus】 effect on a unit lasts until the start of that unit's next phase. If Halves non-Special damage reduction is acquired during the enemy phase, it will disappear when the next player phase begins.
- Halves non-Special damage reduction will reduce the effect of non-Special "reduces damage by X%" effects from Specials such as Vital Astra.
- Damage-reduction reducing effects stack multiplicatively, unlike interactions related to the weapon-triangle, such as Triangle Adept and the weapon-triangle advantage boost.
- For example, if a unit has Halves non-Special damage reduction and a foe with Dodge is on a space with 【Divine Vein (Water)】, the maximum total damage-reduction is reduced to 10%, since the two effects reduce the damage to (1 − ((40% − 50%) − 50%)) = 90% of the original damage instead of 60% of the original damage.
- Each damage-reduction effect is reduced individually.
- For example, if a unit has Halves non-Special damage reduction and the foe has both Spurn 4 and Dodge, the maximum total damage-reduction is reduced to 40%, since the two effects reduce the damage to (1 − (50% − 50%)) × (1 − (40% − 50%)) = 60% of the original damage instead of 30% of the original damage.
- Halves non-Special damage reduction will not reduce the effect of Special "reduces damage by X%" effects or flat damage-reduction effects such as Ice Wall or Laguz Loyalty.

- The stat increasing effect of Bonus Doubler will stack with the temporary debuffs from Neutralize Bonuses or sources of bonus neutralization.
- The stat increasing effect will be negated if the unit is affected by Panic (and not affected by Null Panic), Ploy, or the unit has their Bonuses removed by a source of Bonus effect neutralization.
- "If unit initiates combat" means if the user starts combat during the player phase. The unit does not need to deal damage, nor be the first to attack.
- However, if the effect is applied after combat, the unit must also survive it to fulfill this condition.
- Both Suave Blade and other effects that grant another action to the user can trigger on the same turn.[1]
- The unit's Special cooldown count is unaffected if the additional action effect of Suave Blade triggers.
- Edelgard: Of Rivals's boosted Special effect neutralizes effects that grant unit another action to the unit after combat and additional effects that are triggered at those times.
- This does not apply to Specials that grant unit another action when triggered such as Galeforce Mist or Njörun's Zeal II, effects that grant unit another action after using an Assist such as Dragon's Dance II or Teapot+, Duo/ Harmonized Skills that grant unit another action, Share Spoils, or Share Spoils+.
- The priority of effects that grant another action to the user is as follows:
- Share Spoils or Share Spoils+
- Effects with priority such as Time and Light
- Non-Special effects without priority such as True Lone Wolf or Override
- Special effects without priority such as Galeforce Mist or Njörun's Zeal II
- Effects that trigger after Canto such as Eagle's Heart or The Cycle's Turn
- "If unit initiates combat" means if the user starts combat during the player phase. The unit does not need to deal damage, nor be the first to attack.
- However, if the effect is applied after combat, the unit must also survive it to fulfill this condition.
- The stat boost that can be applied during combat by Suave Blade is considered a temporary buff.
- Suave Blade will not neutralize the additional follow-up of Potent Follow effects.
- Follow-up effects that are neutralized by Suave Blade:
- Effects that grant the foe a guaranteed follow-up such as Quick Riposte 4, Guaranteed follow-ups during combat, or the Grand Conquests Cavalry area effect.
- Effects active on the unit that prevent their follow-up attacks, such as Windsweep 3, Watersweep 3, or Weaving Fighter.
- Effects active on the foe that prevent the unit's follow-up attacks such as Steady Impact, Vengeful Fighter 4, or Foe Cannot Follow-Up.
- The flat damage-reduction effect is a flat -X (max: 15) damage that is calculated after offensive Specials, damage boosting effects such as Arcane Lúin and Dominance, and "reduces damage by X%" effects such as Gust and Dodge.
- If a skill such as Miracle or Everliving Domain can trigger, the damage-reduction effect will not trigger and the user will still survive with only 1 HP.
- Umbra Burst weapons will always deal a minimum of 1 damage even if the foe is equipped with Invincible Sister, Vengeful God, Invincibility Seals, or damage reduction effects.
- Flat damage-reduction effects stack additively, similar to damage boosting effects and interactions related to the weapon-triangle, such as Triangle Adept and the weapon-triangle advantage boost.
- Flat damage-reduction effects cannot be neutralized or reduced only during combat by effects such as Share Spoils+ or Halves non-Special damage reduction.
