Description | Accelerates Special trigger (cooldown count-1). Effective against flying foes. If unit initiates combat or foe's Range = 2, foe cannot trigger Specials during combat or area-of-effect Specials (excluding Røkkr area-of-effect Specials). If unit initiates combat or foe's Range = 2, grants bonus to unit's Atk/Spd/Def/Res = 5 + 15% of unit's Spd at start of combat, reduces the percentage of foe's non-Special "reduce damage by X%" skills by 50% (excluding area-of-effect Specials), neutralizes effects that guarantee foe's follow-up attacks and effects that prevent unit's follow-up attacks, and reduces damage from foe's first attack by 70% during combat ("first attack" normally means only the first strike; for effects that grant "unit attacks twice," it means the first and second strikes), and unit's next attack deals damage = total damage reduced from foe's first attack (by any source, including other skills). Resets at end of combat. |

Note[ | ]
- When battling a Flying unit, damage is boosted by 50%.
- Sources of Flying effectiveness neutralization:
- "If unit initiates combat" means if the user starts combat during the player phase. The unit does not need to deal damage, nor be the first to attack.
- However, if the effect is applied after combat, the unit must also survive it to fulfill this condition.
- Sentinel Bow will prevent Non-Røkkr AoE Specials and Combat Specials from triggering.
- Sentinel Bow only prevents the Special from triggering, so effects caused by the Special trigging (even from other skills) will not activate. Effects not caused by the Special trigging will activate.
- For Example, Gust's damage-reduction can still trigger, but it's damage boost will not trigger.
- Sentinel Bow only prevents the Special from triggering, so effects caused by the Special trigging (even from other skills) will not activate. Effects not caused by the Special trigging will activate.
- The stat increase that can be applied by Sentinel Bow is considered a temporary buff.
- A stat comparison made "At start of combat" ignores temporary buffs and temporary debuffs.
- Temporary buffs and temporary debuffs from skills such as Death Blow and Rauðrfox+ will not affect the outcome.
- Only stat boosts outside of combat, such as Bonuses and Penalties, will affect the outcome.
- Sentinel Bow will reduce the effect of non-Special "reduces damage by X%" effects from Specials such as Vital Astra.
- Damage-reduction reducing effects stack multiplicatively, unlike interactions related to the weapon-triangle, such as Triangle Adept and the weapon-triangle advantage boost.
- For example, if a unit has Halves non-Special damage reduction and a foe with Dodge is on a space with 【Divine Vein (Water)】, the maximum total damage-reduction is reduced to 10%, since the two effects reduce the damage to (1 − ((40% − 50%) − 50%)) = 90% of the original damage instead of 60% of the original damage.
- Each damage-reduction effect is reduced individually.
- For example, if a unit has Halves non-Special damage reduction and the foe has both Spurn 4 and Dodge, the maximum total damage-reduction is reduced to 40%, since the two effects reduce the damage to (1 − (50% − 50%)) × (1 − (40% − 50%)) = 60% of the original damage instead of 30% of the original damage.
- Sentinel Bow will not reduce the effect of Special "reduces damage by X%" effects such as Gust or Laguz Friend 4.
- For more information, see Damage calculation.
- Damage-reduction reducing effects stack multiplicatively, unlike interactions related to the weapon-triangle, such as Triangle Adept and the weapon-triangle advantage boost.
- Sentinel Bow will not neutralize the additional follow-up of 【Potent Follow X%】 or 【Potent Follow 100%】.
- Effects that are neutralized by Sentinel Bow:
- Effects that grant the foe a guaranteed follow-up such as Quick Riposte 4, Guaranteed Follow-Ups, or the Grand Conquests Cavalry area effect.
- Effects active on the unit that prevent their follow-up attacks, such as Windsweep 3, Watersweep 3, or Weaving Fighter.
- Effects active on the foe that prevent the unit's follow-up attacks such as Steady Impact, Vengeful Fighter 4, or Foe Cannot Follow-Up.
- The damage-reduction effect is calculated after offensive Specials and damage boosting effects such as Arcane Lúin and Dominance.
- If a skill such as Miracle or Everliving Domain can trigger, the damage-reduction effect will not trigger and the user will still survive with only 1 HP.
- "Reduces damage by X%" effects stack multiplicatively, unlike interactions related to the weapon-triangle, such as Triangle Adept and the weapon-triangle advantage boost.
- Non-Special "reduces damage by X%" effects can be neutralized or reduced by effects such as Share Spoils or Halves non-Special damage reduction.
- For more information, see Damage calculation.
- Effects that neutralize or reduce non-Special "reduces damage by X%" effects will also affect Sentinel Bow's damage boosting effect.
- The damage boosting effect of Sentinel Bow ignores the foe's Def or Res when calculating the damage boost, and can be reduced by damage-reduction effects such as Gust, Atk/Spd Excel, and Dodge.
- A foe equipped with Embla's Ward, Múspellflame, Niðavellir Axiom, File:Nine-Realm Pact.png Nine-Realm Pact, or Gold Perfection will neutralize all sources of damage during combat except the minimum 1 damage from Umbra Burst weapons.
- For more information, see Damage calculation.
- Sentinel Bow's damage boosting effect calculates the damage boost based on the total damage-reduction from all damage-reduction effects active on the unit including:
- Damage-reduction from ally skills such as Domain of Ice and Caduceus Staff.
- Damage-reduction from Divine Vein and terrain effects.
- Flat damage-reduction from effects such as Atk/Spd Excel and Shield Fighter.
- "Unit survives with 1 HP" effects such as Miracle and Everliving Domain.
- "Unit survives with 1 HP" effects will affect the calculation of the damage boosting effect = the total damage from the foe's damage (including calculations with specials) -1.
- For example, if a foe triggering Glimmer deals 45 damage, and a skill such as Miracle or Everliving Domain would be triggered by that foe's attack, the damage boost for the unit's next attack would be 44 damage.
- If Sentinel Bow triggers multiple times during combat, all reduced damage is accumulated up to the unit's next attack, and resets to 0 at the end of combat. If the unit cannot counterattack the damage boosting effect will not trigger.
