Description | Grants Spd+3. At start of combat, if foe's HP ≥ 75%, grants Spd+5 to unit, inflicts Spd-5 on foe during combat, and then, if unit's Spd > foe's Spd, deals damage = 70% of difference between stats. (Maximum bonus of +7 damage. Combos with Phantom Spd.) At start of turn, if unit is adjacent to only beast or dragon allies or if unit is not adjacent to any ally, unit transforms (otherwise, unit reverts). If unit transforms, grants Atk+2, and also, if unit initiates combat, inflicts Atk/Def-4 on foe during combat and foe cannot make a follow-up attack. |
Notes[ | ]
- The stat increase that can be applied by Refreshed Fang is considered a temporary buff.
- The stat decrease that can be applied by Refreshed Fang is considered a temporary debuff.
- The maximum Spd difference that matters for Refreshed Fang's damage boosting effect is 10, due to Refreshed Fang's cap of 7 added damage.
- The minimum Spd difference that matters for Refreshed Fang's damage boosting effect is 2, which provides 1 added damage.
- With 【Phantom】 effects, Refreshed Fang will deal extra damage if the user would otherwise have equal or less Spd than the target.
- This effect stops when the user is regularly 9 Spd slower than the target, as a 1-Spd advantage rounds down to 0 damage.
- The damage boosting effect of Refreshed Fang is applied after other effects, and is thus not boosted by specials such as Glimmer or Astra.
- The damage boosting effect of Refreshed Fang ignores the foe's Def or Res when calculating the damage boost, and can be reduced by damage-reduction effects such as Gust, Atk/Spd Excel, and Dodge.
- A foe equipped with Embla's Ward, Múspellflame, Niðavellir Axiom, or Gold Perfection will neutralize all sources of damage during combat except the minimum 1 damage from Umbra Burst weapons.
- For more information, see Damage calculation.
- When equipped with skills such as Beast or Beast Passives, a Beast unit will transform out of combat on turn 1 regardless of whether the transformation conditions of the user's weapon are met.
- Skills such as Beast or Beast Passives will also keep the unit from reverting from their Beast form.
- The Atk+2 granted by Refreshed Fang when the user transforms is considered a stat boost, not a 【Bonus】 effect.
- "If unit initiates combat" means if the user starts combat during the player phase. The unit does not need to deal damage, nor be the first to attack.
- However, if the effect is applied after combat, the unit must also survive it to fulfill this condition.
- The stat decrease that can be applied by Refreshed Fang is considered a temporary debuff.
- Refreshed Fang can prevent the foe from making a standard follow-up attack.
- As a general rule, if a unit is both prevented from making, and guaranteed to make a standard follow-up attack, the effects cancel out, and the Spd difference is used (including effects that alter the Spd difference such as Frozen).
- Refreshed Fang will not prevent a unit with a "unit attacks twice" effect from performing the 2 consecutive attacks, but the the unit will not be able to perform a standard follow-up attack.
- Refreshed Fang will not prevent the additional follow-up attack of 【Potent Follow X%】 or 【Potent Follow 100%】.
- Effects such as Mag. Null Follow or Null Follow-Up will neutralize the follow-up preventing effect of Refreshed Fang.
- "If unit transforms" refers to out of combat transformations of Beast units. Transformations during combat will not trigger the stat boost, temporary debuffs, and follow-up preventing effects.
- However, if the effect(s) apply after combat, the unit must also survive combat to fulfill this condition.
