Description | Grants Spd+4. Inflicts Def/Res-4. If unit initiates combat, unit attacks twice, and also, if unit's Spd > foe's Spd, deals damage = 70% of difference between stats. (Maximum bonus of +7 damage.) |
Notes[ | ]
- "If unit initiates combat" means if the user starts combat during the player phase. The unit does not need to deal damage, nor be the first to attack.
- However, if the effect is applied after combat, the unit must also survive it to fulfill this condition.
- Ninjutsu Scrolls's extra attack is not a follow-up attack nor a change in attack priority.
- Effects such as Foe Cannot Follow-Up and Hardy Bearing 3 do not affect the extra attack.
- If Ninjutsu Scrolls's user can perform a standard follow-up attack, either by passing the Spd difference check or effects such as Guaranteed Follow-Ups or Quick Riposte 4, the user will be able to attack up to 4 times during combat.
- Ninjutsu Scrolls's extra attack does not affect the additional follow-up granted by 【Potent Follow X%】 or 【Potent Follow 100%】.
- A foe with effects such as Phys. Null Follow or Null Follow-Up will neutralize any effect on Ninjutsu Scrolls's user that guarantees follow-up attacks.
- The maximum Spd difference that matters for Ninjutsu Scrolls's damage boosting effect is 10, due to Ninjutsu Scrolls's cap of 7 added damage.
- The minimum Spd difference that matters for Ninjutsu Scrolls's damage boosting effect is 2, which provides 1 added damage.
- With 【Phantom】 effects, Ninjutsu Scrolls will deal extra damage if the user would otherwise have equal or less Spd than the target.
- This effect stops when the user is regularly 9 Spd slower than the target, as a 1-Spd advantage rounds down to 0 damage.
- The damage boosting effect of Ninjutsu Scrolls is applied after other effects, and is thus not boosted by specials such as Glimmer or Astra.
- The damage boosting effect of Ninjutsu Scrolls ignores the foe's Def or Res when calculating the damage boost, and can be reduced by damage-reduction effects such as Gust, Atk/Spd Excel, and Dodge.
- A foe equipped with Embla's Ward, Múspellflame, Niðavellir Axiom, or Gold Perfection will neutralize all sources of damage during combat except the minimum 1 damage from Umbra Burst weapons.
- For more information, see Damage calculation.
