Description [Collapse] |
Accelerates Special trigger (cooldown count-1). Effective against flying foes. Enables【Canto (Dist. +1; Max 4)】 during turns 1 through 4. At the start of turns 1 through 4, grants Special cooldown count-3 to unit, grants Special cooldown count-1 to allies within 2 spaces of unit (excluding unit), and grants 【Hexblade】to unit and allies within 2 spaces of unit. At start of combat, if unit's HP ≥ 25%, grants Atk/Spd+6 to unit, grants bonus to unit's Atk/Spd = 20% of unit's Spd at start of combat, unit deals damage = 20% of unit's Spd (including when dealing damage with a Special triggered before combat), and reduces damage from foe's first attack by 30% during combat ("first attack" normally means only the first strike; for effects that grant "unit attacks twice," it means the first and second strikes). |

(Max 4.) (Unit moves according to movement type. Once per turn. Cannot attack or assist. Only highest value applied. Does not stack. After moving, if a skill that grants another action would be triggered (like with Galeforce), Canto will trigger after the granted action. Unit's base movement has no effect on movement granted. Cannot warp (using skills like Wings of Mercy) a distance greater than unit would be able to move with normal Canto movement.) 【Hexblade】 Calculates damage using the lower of foe's Def or Res during combat for 1 turn (including damage dealt by Specials before combat). |

Notes[ | ]
- When battling a Flying unit, damage is boosted by 50%.
- Sources of Flying effectiveness neutralization:
- 【Canto (Dist. +1; Max 4)】 will not trigger after an effect that grants "another action" if it has already been triggered that turn or if the unit does not perform an action.
- If 【Canto (Dist. +1; Max 4)】 has already been triggered that turn effects such as Forever Yours can re-enable it's usage.
- Canto Control will reduce the amount of movement granted by 【Canto (Dist. +1; Max 4)】 to 1 space for Range = 1 units and 0 spaces for Range = 2 units.
- 【Canto (Dist. +1; Max 4)】 takes into account the unit's Move Type and the movement restrictions involved with it. For Example, a Cavalry unit cannot use 【Canto (Dist. +1; Max 4)】 to enter or cross through a forest.
- 【Canto (Dist. +1; Max 4)】 also takes into account effects that alter a unit's normal movement such as movement preventing effects, Divine Vein effects, Pass effects, Traverse Terrain, and 【Pathfinder】.
- 【Canto (Dist. +1; Max 4)】 also takes into account warping effects such as Guidance 4 and Air Orders. However, the distance is limited to the maximum amount of spaces allotted by 【Canto (Dist. +1; Max 4)】.
- The calculation of "spaces from start position to end position" counts the total number of spaces from the initiator's starting position to the end position before combat.
- The calculation includes spaces occupied by an ally with the 【Pathfinder】 effect.
- The start position used in the calculation references the initiator's starting position after being moved by sources of unit movement such as Reposition.
- 【Canto (Dist. +1; Max 4)】 also takes into account status effects that alter a unit's movement value such as Mobility increased, Gallop, Stall, and Gravity.
- 【Canto (Dist. +1; Max 4)】 will have the distance value be reduced to 1 if the unit was inflicted with Stall or Gravity and did not warp or move through a space occupied by a unit with 【Pathfinder】.
- The distance value for 【Canto (Dist. +1; Max 4)】 will not be affected if the unit was inflicted with Stall or Gravity after combat.
- Niðavellir Ballista's cooldown count changing effect will not trigger if the unit is inflicted with False Start, unless False Start is neutralized by a skill such as Dream Deliverer.
- Cooldown count changes from skills that activate at the same time as Niðavellir Ballista (at start of turn) are not considered in Niðavellir Ballista's conditions.[1] Skills such as Infantry Pulse 4, Buffer 4, and Odd Pulse Tie 3 will have their effects stack.
- Niðavellir Ballista applies the Hexblade status effect.
- Any 【Bonus】 on a unit lasts until the start of that unit's next phase. If Hexblade is acquired during the enemy phase, it will disappear when the next player phase begins.
- Attacks that "calculate damage using the lower of foe's Def or Res" include attacks during combat and area-of-effect Specials.
- Close Ward, Mystic Boost 4, Divine Naga, Naga, Spirit Forest Writ, Splashy Bucket, and Splashy Bucket+ will disable this effect.
- Rare Talent, Aureola, Radiant Aureola, and Light and Dark II will disable this effect during combat, but not against area-of-effect Specials.
- Any 【Bonus】 on a unit lasts until the start of that unit's next phase. If Hexblade is acquired during the enemy phase, it will disappear when the next player phase begins.
- The stat increase that can be applied by Niðavellir Ballista is considered a temporary buff.
- A stat comparison made "At start of combat" ignores temporary buffs and temporary debuffs.
- Temporary buffs and temporary debuffs from skills such as Death Blow and Rauðrfox+ will not affect the outcome.
- Only stat boosts outside of combat, such as Bonuses and Penalties, will affect the outcome.
- The damage boosting effect of Niðavellir Ballista ignores the foe's Def or Res when calculating the damage boost, and can be reduced by damage-reduction effects such as Gust, Atk/Spd Excel, and Dodge.
- A foe equipped with Embla's Ward, Múspellflame, Niðavellir Axiom, File:Nine-Realm Pact.png Nine-Realm Pact, or Gold Perfection will neutralize all sources of damage during combat except the minimum 1 damage from Umbra Burst weapons.
- For more information, see Damage calculation.
- The damage-reduction effect is calculated after offensive Specials and damage boosting effects such as Arcane Lúin and Dominance.
- If a skill such as Miracle or Everliving Domain can trigger, the damage-reduction effect will not trigger and the user will still survive with only 1 HP.
- "Reduces damage by X%" effects stack multiplicatively, unlike interactions related to the weapon-triangle, such as Triangle Adept and the weapon-triangle advantage boost.
- Non-Special "reduces damage by X%" effects can be neutralized or reduced by effects such as Share Spoils or Halves non-Special damage reduction.
- For more information, see Damage calculation.
