Notes[ | ]
- The temporary debuffs and follow-up attack before foe's counterattack of Killing Intent will activate if the foe receives a 【Penalty】.
- The temporary debuffs and follow-up attack before foe's counterattack will not be negated if the foe receives a 【Bonus】.
- If the foe does not receive a 【Penalty】, or has their 【Penalty】 removed by a source of negative status effect neutralization, the temporary debuffs and follow-up attack before foe's counterattack will be negated.
- For more information, see List of keywords.
- The stat decrease that can be applied by Killing Intent is considered a temporary debuff.
- "If unit initiates combat" means if the user starts combat during the player phase. The unit does not need to deal damage, nor be the first to attack.
- However, if the effect is applied after combat, the unit must also survive it to fulfill this condition.
- Killing Intent does not guarantee the user a follow-up.
- If the user can perform a follow-up, either by a speed check or effects such as Guaranteed Follow-Ups or Quick Riposte 4, the initial attack and follow-up will occur before the foe can perform a counterattack.
- Effects such as Vantage or Spd Preempt 3 have priority over Killing Intent's priority changing effect.
- Killing Intent changes the attack priority, or order of attacks, and therefore can be disabled by skills such as Hardy Bearing 3 or Armorpin Dagger+.
- The "if foe's HP < 100%" condition is a mistranslation of "if foe's HP ≤ 99%"; if the foe's HP is strictly between 99% and 100%, this condition would fail. However, this is only possible when the unit is in combat against Røkkr enemies, as normal enemy units have a maximum of 99 HP.
- Killing Intent+ applies the Exposure status effect.
- Any 【Penalty】 on a unit lasts until that unit takes an action. If the unit takes multiple actions in a turn, they will only have the status effect for their first action.
- The damage boosting effect is a fixed +10 that ignores the foe's Def or Res when calculating the damage boost, and can be reduced by damage reduction effects such as Armored Beacon, Dragon Wall 3, and Dodge.
- A foe equipped with Embla's Ward, Múspellflame, Niðavellir Axiom, or Gold Perfection will neutralize all sources of damage during combat except the minimum 1 damage from Umbra Burst weapons.
- For more information, see Damage calculation.

Trivia[ | ]
- In Version 7.3.0, Killing Intent+ had the additional unintended effect of "At start of combat, if foe's HP ≤ 99% or if【Penalty】is active on foe, unit makes a guaranteed follow-up attack during combat and if a stat penalty is active on any foe within 2 spaces of target, neutralizes effects that inflict "Special cooldown charge -X" on unit."
