- Joyful Vows will not prevent a unit with a "unit attacks twice" effect from performing the 2 consecutive attacks, but the the unit will not be able to perform a standard follow-up attack.
- Joyful Vows will not prevent the additional follow-up attack of 【Potent Follow X%】 or 【Potent Follow 100%】.

- The stat increase that can be applied by Refined Joyful Vows is considered a temporary buff.
- The stat increasing effect of Refined Joyful Vows will activate if the target and foes within 2 spaces of target receive Penalties.
- The stat increasing effect will not be negated nor reduced if the target and foes within 2 spaces of target receive Bonuses.
- If the target and foes within 2 spaces of target are affected by Panic (and not affected by Null Panic), Refined Joyful Vows will utilize the total Penalty within each stat during calculation.[1]
- The target and foes within 2 spaces of target will only receive temporary buffs from Neutralize Penalties or a source of penalty neutralization if the target and foes within 2 spaces of target has a penalty neutralizing effect and the stat increasing effect of Refined Joyful Vows active.
- The stat increasing effect will be negated if the target and foes within 2 spaces of target have their Penalties removed by a source of negative status effect neutralization.

- Damage-reduction reducing effects stack multiplicatively, unlike interactions related to the weapon-triangle, such as Triangle Adept and the weapon-triangle advantage boost.
- For example, if a unit has Halves non-Special damage reduction and a foe with Dodge is on a space with 【Divine Vein (Water)】, the maximum total damage-reduction is reduced to 10%, since the two effects reduce the damage to (1 − ((40% − 50%) − 50%)) = 90% of the original damage instead of 60% of the original damage.
- Each damage-reduction effect is reduced individually.
- For example, if a unit has Halves non-Special damage reduction and the foe has both Spurn 4 and Dodge, the maximum total damage-reduction is reduced to 40%, since the two effects reduce the damage to (1 − (50% − 50%)) × (1 − (40% − 50%)) = 60% of the original damage instead of 30% of the original damage.
- Joyful Vows will not reduce the effect of Special "reduces damage by X%" effects such as Gust or Laguz Friend 4.
