Ice Mirror II is triggered by the foe's attack and reduces the damage taken from that attack.
- A foe with a skill such as Lands Sword will prevent Ice Mirror II from triggering.
The damage-reduction is calculated after offensive Specials and skills that deal extra damage, such as Wo Dao+.
- Percentage-based damage-reduction effects stack multiplicatively, unlike interactions related to the weapon-triangle, such as gem weapons and Triangle Adept.
  - For example, if both Spurn 3 and Vital Astra activate, the maximum total damage-reduction is 58% instead of 70%, since the two skills reduce the damage to (1 − 40%) × (1 − 30%) = 42% of the original damage.

Þjálfi will reduce the damage-reduction of Ice Mirror II by 50%.
The added damage from activating Ice Mirror II ignores Def and Res.
- Ice Mirror II only does damage if the foe initiates combat from 2 spaces away. These foes must be ranged foes which cannot equip defensive Specials such as Pavise.
