Description Accelerates Special trigger (cooldown count-1). If unit initiates combat and foe uses sword, lance, axe, dragonstone, or beast damage, grants Def+20 during combat, and if foe can counter, unit makes a guaranteed follow-up attack. After combat, if unit attacked, inflicts Def/Res-7 on target and foes within 2 spaces of target through their next actions.

Notes[]

  • If unit initiates combat means if the user starts combat on their turn. The unit does not need to deal damage, nor be the first to attack.
    • However, if the effect is applied after combat, the unit must also survive it to fulfill this condition.
  • The stat increase that can be applied by Hoarfrost Knife is considered a combat boost.
  • As a general rule, if a unit is both prevented from making, and guaranteed to make, a follow-up attack, the effects cancel out, and the standard speed check decides instead.
  • A foe with skills such as Null Follow Up 3.png Null Follow-Up 3 or a status effect such as  Null Follow-Up will disable Hoarfrost Knife's guaranteed follow-up attack effect.
  • If unit attacked means if the wielder attacked at any time during combat. They do not need to initiate combat, deal damage, or survive.
    • This means that if the foe initiates combat and the user cannot counterattack, the effect will not activate.
  • The stat decrease that can be applied by Hoarfrost Knife is considered a  penalty.
    • Any 【Penalty】 on a unit, including  penalties, lasts until that unit takes an action. If the unit takes multiple actions in a turn, they will only have the penalty for their first action.
      • If the unit also has  Grand Strategy, any  penalties will remain active until the start of that unit's next phase.

Notes[]

  • The stat decrease that can be applied by Hoarfrost Knife is considered a combat reduction.
  • The "Special cooldown charge -X" effect will stack with the "Special cooldown charge +X" effect.
    • For example, if a unit is affected by both  Guard and  Accelerate Special, the effects will stack and the cooldown will go down without penalty or bonus.
  • If used alongside another source of "Special cooldown charge -X", only the higher of the two charge reductions will apply.
    • This means that if a unit has two "Special cooldown charge -1" effects from two different sources, the battle will play out as if only one "Special cooldown charge -1" effect is active.
  • Skills such as Spd Def Tempo 3.png Spd/Def Tempo 3 and Icon Class Green Axe.png Whirling Grace will neutralize effects that inflict "Special cooldown charge -X" on its user.
