- Hardin appeared in the original game, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light, as the regent of Aurelis and eventual companion of Marth's band. He becomes a main villain for the majority of Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem due to the influence of the dark mage Gharnef and the Darksphere.
- He is also known as Coyote.
- The woman mentioned in some of Hardin's quotes is Nyna, the princess of Archanea, and also Hardin's wife. However, the two only married for political reasons as Nyna was still in love with Camus and could not love Hardin back. This is the reason why Hardin fell into darkness.
