This build aims to maximize Marisa’s defensive potential and survivability. With this set, she reaches 52 defense without any combat or field buffs, which is quite high for an infantry unit. That’s 26 Skilliconspecial Bonfire damage, or 41 Skilliconspecial Ignis damage! Renewal 3 Renewal 3 helps Marisa stay alive much longer, with a constant stream of regeneration. Atk Smoke 3 Atk Smoke 3 allows for Marisa to take less damage, further boosting her survivability. Alternatively, Threaten Atk 3 Threaten Atk 3 can be used as a budget option. Skilliconassist Reposition and Skilliconassist Swap are standard assist skills for Infantry units, and, if coupled with Def Res Link 3 Def/Res Link 3, can boost Marisa’s defense stat to 58, as well as providing a boost to her ally. Build submitted by JediMercenary, hope it helps.

High HP Marisa
Click to show/hide build description
Marisa has 46 HP, which can be massively taken advantage of if used properly. With the Wo Dao Refinement and the HP +5 Seal, this amount reaches up to 56. This amount exceeds the base HP of every character in the game except Arden.

Wo Dao+ has the speed refinement in order to increase the ability for Marisa to double opponents, bringing her speed up to 39. Her attack also increases by one point thanks to the refinement from 43 to 44.

Reciprocal Aid can be used to recover HP from another healthy ally. This keeps her HP high and more likely to activate Fire Boost. You can also use Marisa herself as support for another ally with this skill, as she will likely fully heal them due to her high HP.

Noontime is the skill of choice her, since in a battle which Marisa doubles her opponent, her second hit will trigger the Noontime. This will then heal her a bit as well as increase her damage output due to Wo Dao +'s ability.

Fire Boost acts as a Death Blow that can be triggered both in player and enemy phase so long as the enemy has an HP of 53 or less. This means Fire Boost can activate very often. For example, an Amelia with a refined Slaying Axe (her weapon of choice) has a total HP of 52. Hector with Armads also has a base HP of 52. This skill would also activate against ALL dragons, mages, and staff wielders. The highest base HP out of all of these is Fae's 46, so Fire Boost would activate even when considering Fae's weapon refinement.

  • The attack would therefore rise to 50, if no Hone Atk or similar skill is used by another unit.

Renewal is used to constantly heal Marisa in order to keep her HP as high as possible. Nothing else to say here.

  • Note: If you plan to attack with Marisa AFTER having used the reciprocal aid to heal an ally, then it's better to go with Desperation 3 as her B-skill, since she would already likely be in that range due to the assist.

The C-skill works best when it fits your team's needs, so feel free to replace it with anything else you may need. Some personal recommendations are Panic Ploy in order to reverse the opponent's buffs and threaten Spd in order for her to do better in battle.

HP+5 is the seal in order to bring her HP to the highest value possible, 56.

Overall, this build seeks to utilize Marisa's high HP stat to its fullest potential, increasing her attack and taking her high speed in order to become an offensive unit who is hard to kill at the same time.

Thanks for reading. Hope you enjoy this build and keep having fun playing FEH! :)

This is an optimal but budget build for Marisa. With the standard choices, she will have 46 HP, 48 Attack, 44 Speed, 25 Defense and 16 Resistance. Life and Death 3 is now kinda budget because Sothe can inherit it at 4*, but Fury 3 is fine too (46 HP, 46 Atk, 42 Spd, 33 Def and 24 Res). Desperation 3 is the standard B for high speed units so they won't be retaliated starting from their second battle. Infantry Pulse 3 his her Standard C and it's a very good one for Infantry teams, and she also has an high amount of HP too. You may prefer an hone or a threaten skill if you want to use her in a non-infantry team. Moonbow is usually preferable as a special since it helps dealing with high defense units and/or defensive tiles, but the standard Glimmer is nice too. The assist is personal preference: Ardent Sacrifice would be really good on her but she has "too much" HP, and the 10HP loss won't be enough to put her on Desperation 3 range (she needs to take 11 damage), so Reposition is much better imo.

Budget Marisa

Marisa as a free unit is pretty good and with some budget skills she can check quite a few units. She has a high HP stat and a high speed stat. Her attack is unfortunately low which hurts her a little bit. Her Def stat is pretty good as it allows her to take some hits from units. As she is mostly a player phase unit her resistance isn’t really that important. As budget build for her Fury 3 works as it will help her attack stat out and boost her speed to 39. This will help her not get doubled in matchups. Wo Dao+ which is the weapon that she comes with works for her to help get those KOs with her special. The attack refine does help boost her low attack stat to something that helps her counter more units. Marisa does come with Glimmer but as her attack is low it doesn’t really help her get those KOs in matchups. Which is why Moonbow is the better option as it is a 2 cooldown special. Vantage 3 on her helps her take out units when her health is low because her special will most likely be charged and when the enemy initiates she will be able to take them out. Her C slot skill which is Infantry Pulse which works really well for her as she does have a relatively high HP stat. In most battles outside of arena she will be able to provide a -1 cooldown charge to supporting allies. As an alternative Threaten Def 3 will help her take down more bulker units that she has trouble taking down. As for her assist Reposition or Draw Back works so she will be able to help move allies out of the way during combat. As for the sacred seal Attack +3 will help raise her attack stat with Fury and Atk refine to 52 attack.

Marisa works well with units that can help buff her stats up and help fill the areas where she is lacking. Marisa will lose to more bulkier red and blue units so having someone to cover up that weakness will help her function a lot better. Marisa can help units who rely on their special to do a lot of damage with her Infantry Pulse 3.

As previously mentioned Marisa will lose to a lot more bulkier units like most armor units and even some bulky infantry units. Her res isn’t high so she will die more easily to some mages. Marisa does function more as a player phase unit rather than an enemy phase unit.

With this build, Marisa reaches 49 attack and 39 speed, 40 speed with a +1 merge. Fury 3 Fury 3 gives her a tremendous boost in stats and makes up for her average attack. With the Might refinement on her weapon, Icon Class Red Sword Wo Dao+, she reaches 49 attack with Fury 3, which brings it up to an amount that’s nothing to sneeze at, which could be potentially raised with combat buffs. Desperation 3 Desperation 3 works well with Fury, and will allow her to take out troublesome dragons and mages with ease. Skilliconspecial Moonbow and Skilliconspecial Luna are great specials for Marisa, and they go with her weapons effect quite awesomely. Build submitted by JediMercenary, hope it helps.

Indestructible Wall

With this build, Marisa will be able to tank a ton of physical damage, while healing most of her lost hp as well. With Steady Breath she will be able to proc Sol or Noontime in a single turn and heal herself for at least 5 hp every time it procs, however since Steady Breath is a very expensive skill to get, Fury is used instead for those not willing to give up an Ike (Brave Heroes). Wrath will be able to help Marisa to heal even more HP as long as she's in the range. With fury and a Defense Refine on Wo Dao she can get to 37 defense, 40 with a seal. On her slot C it can be really just about anything. With her high HP and high Defense it will be very hard for a lot of units to even scratch her, especially with the constant heals she gets. Attack 3 seal can be used to compensate for her mediocre attack stat but personally I think a defense seal is much better. Because even without Attack +3 seal she can still hit 48 attack with the Refine, a merge, and Fury 3.

Crimson Bulk
Click to show/hide build description
This build tries to complement Marisa's already high defense and hit points. The Icon Class Red Sword Wo Dao+ is kept to improve healing and damage on Noontime, and is honed for defense to maximize her bulk. Skilliconassist Reposition is generally useful for melee tanks, but Skilliconassist Swap can serve a similar purpose, sacrificing some of her ability to move her allies to gain more mobility for herself. Skilliconspecial Noontime is recommended, as it is her only means of healing herself if she doesn't have Renewal, but if Renewal is being used, Skilliconspecial Bonfire takes advantage of her huge defense, granting 30 extra damage when Earth Boost is active, thanks to the Wo Dao+. Earth Boost 3 Earth Boost 3 is chosen over more conventional choices like Fury 3 Fury 3 because of Marisa's enormous hit point pool, which lets it activate on all but the toughest of armored units, boosting her defense to a highly respectable 40. Guard 2 Guard 2 lets Marisa resist moves that would bypass her defense, such as Moonbow and Luna, while being inheritable from four-star units. If the investment isn't an issue, Guard 3 can be used for slightly improved effect. On the other hand, Renewal 3 Renewal 3 improves her overall lifespan and is recommended for the Tempest Trials or Chain Challenge. Infantry Pulse 3 Infantry Pulse 3 and Panic Ploy 3 Panic Ploy 3 both capitalize on Marisa's hit points even further, either buffing her allies or deterring her enemies. For her seal, HP Plus 5 HP +5 not only further increases her bulk but makes her C-passive and Earth Boost more effective. Alternatively, Close Def 3 Close Def 3 further increases her tankiness against melee foes but grants no bonus against ranged foes.

Mixed Bulk Marisa
Click to show/hide build description
This build aims to take advantage of Marisa's high mixed bulk and high speed to stop units that rely on skills for their follow-up attacks in their tracks and also soak damage against physical and magic units.

Icon Class Red Sword Slaying Edge with resistance refinement is taken to improve Marisa's magical bulk. The Slaying Edge enables Marisa to activate Skilliconspecial Bonfire in a single round on the enemy phase.

Steady Stance 4 Steady Stance 4 helps improve Marisa's match-ups against armors and physical units while also preventing enemies from charging their special.

Null Follow Up 3 Null Follow-Up 3 is the crux of this build and enables Marisa full use of her speed to double slow units and prevent units that rely on follow-up skills from doubling.

Panic Ploy 3 Panic Ploy 3 utilizes Marisa's high HP to cripple units with visible buffs.

Warding Stance 3 Warding Stance 3 helps Marisa tank tomes and dragons.
