This build consists mostly on Hector's base kit, which is designed perfectly for a mixed phase powerhouse of a unit that can fight units at any range and do so impressively well, especially those that hit his defense, easily one of the highest in the game.
Maltet is his special weapon, with the abilities of Slaying Lance and Quick Riposte 4 in one. Much like the original version of Hector, he can automatically double on Enemy Phase, this time when at or above 50% HP, while also being able to activate specials with a cooldown higher than Armads Hector can.
Ignis is the special of choice. On Player Phase, it will activate on the second hit, which is guaranteed because of Bold Fighter 3. On Enemy Phase, if he gets doubled, it will activate on his second counter.
Ostian Counter is by far the best choice for Hector. Not only does it have the amazing ability to hit back against ranged foes, it has an Atk/Def +4 bonus that further bolsters his ridiculous statline.
Bold Fighter 3 is the ever-oppressing armor skill that allows Enemy Phase units to have a strong presence on both phases, and it also applies to this Hector. His attack stat is high and his statline is optimized by having very low speed, so he makes full use of the guaranteed double that ignores his lack of speed.
As for the C slot, a skill that helps his team the most should be taken. Armor buffs are always welcome in armor teams, and Tactic buffs in mixed teams, along with many other options.
As for the seal slot, the best seals to take are Close Def 3 or Distant Def 3, since he has guaranteed doubles on both phases from the rest of his kit. Along with Ostian Counter, Hector sees a +10 defense boost on Enemy Phase with these seals, bringing +0 Hector with def boon to 53 defense, which both makes him extremely durable, but also translates into massive damage on his Ignis activation. With that huge defense stat, he can freely take doubles from almost any physical attacker and charge his deadly special as he sees fit. |
