Description | Grants Atk+3. Effective against dragon foes. Grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+X during combat. (X = number of dragon allies and allies that have "effective against dragons" within 2 spaces ×3. Maximum bonus of +9 to each stat.) If foe's Range = 2, calculates damage using the lower of foe's Def or Res. |
Notes[ | ]
- When battling a Dragon unit or a unit with Loptous, Attack is multiplied by 1.5.
- Breath of Blight, Eerie Scripture, Snow's Grace, Sublime Surge, and the Neutralize Effective Against Dragons status effect will neutralize the attack increase against Dragon units and units with Loptous.
- The stat increase that can be applied by Divine Breath is considered a temporary buff.
- Attacks that "calculate damage using the lower of foe's Def or Res" include attacks during combat and area-of-effect Specials.
- Close Ward, Mystic Boost 4, Divine Naga, Naga, Spirit Forest Writ, Splashy Bucket, and Splashy Bucket+ will disable this effect.
- Rare Talent, Aureola, Radiant Aureola, and Light and Dark II will disable this effect during combat, but not against area-of-effect Specials.
- Allies that have "effective against dragons" include allies with a source of effective against dragon foes and allies that are granted the Effective against dragons status.
Upgrades[ | ]
Can be upgraded in the Weapon Refinery. For a list of other such weapons, see list of upgradable weapons.
Notes[ | ]
- The effect of Divine Breath will not apply to the user's allies who are inflicted with Feud or are in combat against a foe with skills such as Impenetrable Void and C Feud 3.
- The damage-reduction is calculated after offensive Specials and damage boosting effects such as Arcane Lúin and Dominance.
- If a skill such as Miracle or Everliving Domain can trigger, the damage-reduction effect will not trigger and the user will still survive with only 1 HP.
- Percentage-based damage-reduction effects stack multiplicatively, unlike interactions related to the weapon-triangle, such as Triangle Adept and the weapon-triangle advantage boost.
- For example, if both Buffer 4 and Godlike Reflexes activate, the maximum total damage-reduction is 70% instead of 90%, since the two skills reduce the damage to (1 − 50%) × (1 − 40%) = 30% of the original damage.
- For more information, see Damage calculation.

- The damage boosting effect of Divine Breath is not affected by the weapon-triangle, and includes the increased Atk from skills like Blárblade+ in its calculations.
- The damage boosting effect of Divine Breath ignores the foe's Def or Res when calculating the damage boost, and can be reduced by damage reduction effects such as Armored Beacon, Dragon Wall 3, and Dodge.
- A foe equipped with Embla's Ward, Múspellflame, Niðavellir Axiom, or Gold Perfection will neutralize all sources of damage during combat except the minimum 1 damage from Umbra Burst weapons.
- For more information, see Damage calculation.
