- Cursed Lance inflicts out of combat damage.
- Out of combat damage cannot reduce a unit's HP to 0.
- A foe equipped with Embla's Ward, Múspellflame, Niðavellir Axiom, or Gold Perfection will neutralize all sources of out of combat damage except Røkkr area-of-effect Specials.
- A foe equipped with Røkkr or a unit affected by En Garde will neutralize all sources of out of combat damage except area-of-effect Specials.
- Cursed Lance stacks with out of combat healing from effects such as Essence Drain or Renewal 3.
- For example, if a unit has both Fury and Mystic Boost, Fury 2 + Mystic Boost 1 = -2 HP, Fury 3 + Mystic Boost 3 = 0 HP, and Fury 4 + Mystic Boost 4 = +2 HP.

- Refined Cursed Lance has the same effect as Fury 3.
- The temporary buffs and Special cooldown charge -1 effects of Cursed Lance will activate if the foe receives a 【Penalty】.
- The temporary buffs and Special cooldown charge -1 effects will not be negated if the foe receives a 【Bonus】.
- If the foe does not receive a 【Penalty】, or has their 【Penalty】 removed by a source of negative status effect neutralization, the temporary buffs and Special cooldown charge -1 effects will be negated.

- The stat increase that can be applied by Cursed Lance is considered a temporary buff.
- The "Special cooldown charge -X" effect will stack with the "Special cooldown charge +X" effect.
- For example, if a unit is affected by both Guard and Special Cooldown Charge +1, the effects will stack and the cooldown will go down without penalty or bonus.
- If used alongside another source of "Special cooldown charge -X", only the higher of the two charge reductions will apply.
- This means that if a unit has two "Special cooldown charge -1" effects from two different sources, the battle will play out as if only one "Special cooldown charge -1" effect is active.
- Skills such as Spd/Def Tempo 4 and Whirling Grace will neutralize effects that inflict "Special cooldown charge -X" on its user.
