If a skill compares unit's Spd to a foe's or ally's Spd, treats unit's Spd as if granted +7. If foe initiates combat or foe's HP ≥ 75% at start of combat, grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+4 to unit and reduces the percentage of foe's non-Special "reduces damage by X%" skills by 50% during combat (example: a foe with a "reduces damage by 45%" skill would reduce damage by 23% instead), and also, if unit's Spd > foe's Spd, reduces damage from attacks during combat and from area-of-effect Specials (excluding Røkkr area-of-effect Specials) by percentage = difference between stats × 4 (max 40%).

  • The stat increase that can be applied by refined Bun-Bun Baton is considered a temporary buff.
  • Refined Bun-Bun Baton will neutralize the "Special cooldown charge -X" effect on unit from effects such as Icon Class Red Sword Guard Sword+, Status Effect Guard Guard, or 【Divine Vein (Green)】.
    • Since the "Special cooldown charge -X" effect will be neutralized on unit, refined Bun-Bun Baton will also stack with the "Special cooldown charge +X" effect on unit from effects such as Heavy Blade 4 Heavy Blade 4, Status Effect Special Cooldown Charge 1 Special Cooldown Charge +1, or the Grand Conquests Icon Move Infantry Infantry area effect, unless the foe is equipped with skills that neutralize the "Special cooldown charge +X" effect on unit.
  • Effects that select units based on stats, such as Chill Def Res 3 Chill Def/Res 3, directly select the unit with the appropriate stat(s); they do not compare the team's units pairwise to decide which unit has the highest or lowest stat(s).
  • Effects that check if a unit could make follow-up by decreasing the Spd difference, such as Potent 4 Potent 4, are not affected by Bun-Bun Baton W Bun-Bun Baton.
  • Effects that increase the Spd difference, such as Wyvern Rift Wyvern Rift, are not affected by Bun-Bun Baton W Bun-Bun Baton.
  • Bun-Bun Baton W Bun-Bun Baton stacks with other effects that treats a unit's Spd as if granted by a certain amount.
    • For example, if both Buffer 4 Buffer 4 and Phantom Spd 3 Phantom Spd 3's effects trigger the unit with both skills will have their Spd treated as if granted +17.
  • "If foe initiates combat" means if a foe triggers combat during the enemy phase. The unit being initiated upon does not need to deal damage, nor be able to counterattack.
    • However, if the effect is applied after combat, the unit being initiated upon must also survive it to fulfill this condition.
  • The damage-reduction reducing effect of Bun-Bun Baton W Bun-Bun Baton will apply to damage-reducing Specials such as Skilliconspecial Vital Astra.
    • damage-reduction reducing effects stack multiplicatively, unlike interactions related to the weapon-triangle, such as Status Effect Triangle Adept Triangle Adept and the weapon-triangle advantage boost.
    • Each damage-reduction effect is reduced by individually.
      • For example, if a unit has Spd Def Tempo 4 Spd/Def Tempo 4 and the foe has both Spurn 4 Spurn 4 and Status Effect Dodge Dodge active, the maximum total damage-reduction is reduced to 40%, since the two skills reduce the damage to (1 − (50% × 50%)) × (1 − (40% × 50%)) = 60% of the original damage.
  • Specials that "reduce damage by X%.":

  • The damage-reduction is calculated after offensive Specials and damage boosting effects such as Icon Class Blue Lance Arcane Lúin and Status Effect Dominance Dominance.
    • If a skill such as Skilliconspecial Miracle or Everliving Domain Everliving Domain can trigger, the damage-reduction effect will not trigger and the user will still survive with only 1 HP.
    • Percentage-based damage-reduction effects stack multiplicatively, unlike interactions related to the weapon-triangle, such as Status Effect Triangle Adept Triangle Adept and the weapon-triangle advantage boost.
      • For example, if both Buffer 4 Buffer 4 and Skilliconspecial Godlike Reflexes activate, the maximum total damage-reduction is 70% instead of 90%, since the two skills reduce the damage to (1 − 50%) × (1 − 40%) = 30% of the original damage.
