| Description | Accelerates Special trigger (cooldown count-1). At start of combat, if unit's HP ≥ 25%, inflicts Atk/Def-6 on foe during combat, and also, the following effects will occur based on the value of total bonuses on unit + value of total penalties on foe: if ≥ 5, "foe cannot make a follow-up attack"; and if ≥ 10, "unit makes a guaranteed follow-up attack"; and if ≥ 15, "inflicts Special cooldown charge -1 on foe per attack during combat." (Example: if unit has an Atk/Def+6 bonus and foe has an Atk/Def-6 penalty, the calculated total will be 24.) |

- The stat increase that can be applied by Axe of Despair is considered a temporary buff.
- Axe of Despair can prevent the foe from making a standard follow-up attack.
- As a general rule, if a unit is both prevented from making, and guaranteed to make a standard follow-up attack, the effects cancel out, and the Spd difference is used (including effects that increase the Spd difference such as
Wyvern Rift). - Axe of Despair will not prevent a unit with a "unit attacks twice" effect from performing the 2 consecutive attacks, but the the unit will not be able to perform a standard follow-up attack.
