During unit's first combat in player phase or enemy phase, at start of combat, if unit's HP ≥ 25% while transformed, reduces damage from foe's first attack by 40%.
This skill can only be equipped by its original unit.

Notes[ | ]

  • The HP threshold applies both to the Special cooldown charge -1 inflicted on foe and the Special cooldown charge +1 granted on unit.
    • The HP threshold is checked at start of combat, and the skill either applies throughout the entire combat, or not at all.
  • The "Special cooldown charge +X" effect will stack with the "Special cooldown charge -X" effect.
    • For example, if a unit is affected by both Status Effect Guard Guard and Status Effect Special Cooldown Charge 1 Special Cooldown Charge +1, the effects will stack and the cooldown will go down without penalty or bonus.
    • If the effect is active, the unit will gain 2 charges from both attacking and being attacked.
  • If used alongside another source of "Special cooldown charge +X", only the higher of the two charge increases will apply.
    • This means that if a unit has two "Special cooldown charge +1" effects from two different sources, the battle will play out as if only one "Special cooldown charge +1" effect is active.
  • Skills such as Spd Def Tempo 4 Spd/Def Tempo 4 and Icon Class Red Sword Spendy Scimitar will neutralize effects that grant "Special cooldown charge +X" to the foe.
  • The "Special cooldown charge -X" effect will stack with the "Special cooldown charge +X" effect.
    • For example, if a unit is affected by both Status Effect Guard Guard and Status Effect Special Cooldown Charge 1 Special Cooldown Charge +1, the effects will stack and the cooldown will go down without penalty or bonus.
  • If used alongside another source of "Special cooldown charge -X", only the higher of the two charge reductions will apply.
    • This means that if a unit has two "Special cooldown charge -1" effects from two different sources, the battle will play out as if only one "Special cooldown charge -1" effect is active.
  • Skills such as Spd Def Tempo 4 Spd/Def Tempo 4 and Icon Class Green Axe Whirling Grace will neutralize effects that inflict "Special cooldown charge -X" on its user.
  • The healing effect is triggered regardless if Armored Wall's user performs an attack during combat. If foe engages and user cannot counterattack, Armored Wall's healing effect will still trigger.
  • Armored Wall's user needs to survive the combat for the healing effect to trigger.
  • Armored Wall's healing effect stacks with skills such as Fury 4 Fury 4, that deal out of combat damage to their owner after combat.
  • Armored Wall's after combat healing will not work if the foe has a skill that prevents HP recovery such as Fatal Smoke 4 Fatal Smoke 4 or Icon Class Colorless Staff Incurable+, or the user has been inflicted with Status Effect Deep Wounds Deep Wounds.
  • The effect of Armored Wall only activates during the first combat that the user enters during either phase of that turn.
    • If the user or a foe has any skills that neutralize or stack with Armored Wall's effect, those effects will only stack or be neutralized during the first combat that the user enters during either phase of that turn.
  • The damage-reduction is calculated after offensive Specials and damage boosting effects such as Icon Class Blue Lance Arcane Lúin and Status Effect Dominance Dominance.
    • If a skill such as Skilliconspecial Miracle or Everliving Domain Everliving Domain can trigger, the damage-reduction effect will not trigger and the user will still survive with only 1 HP.
    • Percentage-based damage-reduction effects stack multiplicatively, unlike interactions related to the weapon-triangle, such as Status Effect Triangle Adept Triangle Adept and the weapon-triangle advantage boost.
      • For example, if both Buffer 4 Buffer 4 and Skilliconspecial Godlike Reflexes activate, the maximum total damage-reduction is 70% instead of 90%, since the two skills reduce the damage to (1 − 50%) × (1 − 40%) = 30% of the original damage.
